Completely switch the US to the metric system by 2019. The United States is the only country that has not switched to the metric system other than Burma and Liberia . The cost of not switching to the metric system is quickly increasing with the trend towards globalization. There are very strong economic and scientific reasons to switch the US to the metric system.
America should therefore move to the metric system because the English system of measurement is not just complex and confusing with many problematic questions but also has numerous disadvantages to the country, unlike the metrics system which is easy to understand.
With the metric system, the formula for BMI is weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. Since height is commonly measured in centimeters, an alternate calculation formula, dividing the weight in kilograms by the height in centimeters squared, and then multiplying the result by 10,000, can be used.
Cooking units are measured in either weight, volume or quantity, but not between each other. Converting a weight cooking unit (grams) to a volume unit (cup, tablespoon etc) is not possible unless you know the density of that ingredient. The most frequently used cooking units are cup, tablespoon, teaspoon, ounce, liter, mL, pint and quart.
