1. Fry them into little oatcakes! If needed, add a bit of flour to thicken—and any other add-ins you'd like (Sam1148 suggests scallions)—form into patties, and pan-fry.
2. Or add a couple of scoops of the cooked oatmeal to baked goods, like muffins, quick breads, rolls, or even pancakes or waffles.
3. Use cooked oats to add heft to a burger, meatloaf, or meatballs.
4. Add a spoonful or two to a smoothie! They'll add a little staying power (and the fact that they're already cooked means they won't feel dusty or grainy).
5. If it's sweet oatmeal that you're tired of, simply turn it savory, risotto-style. Add cooked vegetables or meat, miso, a fried egg, a little hot sauce, cheese...
6. Add cooked oats to a soup, just as you would rice.
7. Bake it! It will transform into something more like cake, and less like oatmeal (and you can still eat it for breakfast).

1. Make the porridge by mixing water (or milk and water mixture) and oats, and cook in a saucepan by simmering for a few minutes until smooth and creamy. Allow to cool.
2. If using activated yeast, dissolve the yeast in the water in the bowl of a stand mixer first. Then add the porridge, white and brown bread flour, salt, and oil. If using quick yeast, add it to the bowl with the flour etc. Mix using a dough hook on a medium to low setting for 8 minutes. Unlike other breads the dough won't turn into a smooth ball as you knead. You need to do the window pane test to see if it is ready.
3. Cover the bowl and leave in a warm place for an hour to rise. Butter a 1 lb/450 g loaf tin.
4. When the dough has doubled in size, turn it out of the bowl onto a floured work surface. Fold over into thirds, then roll into a loaf shape. Transfer to the loaf tin (seam down) and cover or place in a large plastic bag. Place in the warm location used in the step above.
