Once both halves of your lamb cake mold are greased as if your life depends on it, it’s time to fill it with the cake batter. Place the front half of the lamb on a lipped cookie sheet. Fill the mold with the cake batter.
Steps Assemble the ingredients and supplies needed. Prepare the cake mold. Make the cake batter of choice. Pour the cake batter into the lamb mold. Close the mold together tightly if the mold is one that makes a whole lamb. Place the lamb mold into the preheated oven and bake according to the cake instructions. Remove the cake once cooked.
Add cream of tartar to egg whites; with clean beaters, beat on high speed just until stiff but not dry. Fold a fourth of the whites into batter, then fold in remaining whites. Gently transfer to bottom half of mold (the bottom half is the face of the lamb).
Place another rack on the lamb cake and carefully flip it over and remove the front half of the mold. Let lamb cake cool completely lying on its back. Place a dab of cream cheese frosting on an oblong platter and set the lamb on top to secure it. Frost all sides of lamb, swirling it to represent lamb's wool.
