Spread a layer of vanilla ice cream over the crumbs, then cover and freeze. Let set out for a few minutes then scrape the sides with a rippled or ridged spatula to create a lined look. Put back in the freezer to refreeze. Mix equal parts whipped topping and ice cream

Reviews: 32
Estimated Reading Time: 4 mins
1. I started with a vanilla and chocolate ice cream, but it's up to you to use whatever flavors you like! Begin by letting the ice cream soften just a tad so it is workable but not soupy and melted (it's an art to achieve the best consistency).
2. Butter the bottom and sides of your pan, then spread a thin layer of vanilla ice cream on the bottom and sides, all the way to the top. Refreeze for a few minutes to harden this layer before moving onto the next.
3. Spread a layer of chocolate ice cream to fill the pan half way up, then refreeze.
4. Fill a plastic bag with Oreo cookies (or store brand), and use a rolling pin to crush them into fine crumbs. You may also try putting them in a food grater or blender. The smaller the crumbs the better! Mix the crumbs with chocolate syrup and spread over chocolate ice cream.

How To Make an Ice Cream Cake (Even Better than Dairy Queen!)

1 hours ago Thekitchn.com Show details

I recently discovered that ice cream cake is a surprisingly divisive topic. When I asked friends and readers whether actual cake belonged in ice cream cake, the responses were severely split. Of course! said some. Absolutely not, insisted others. It turns out, you see, that many, many people were raised on the Dairy Queen and Carvel ice cream cakes, which are nothing but pure and cold ice

Estimated Reading Time: 6 mins
1. Set up your pan: Lay a sheet of parchment or wax paper on a baking sheet, and place your cold springform ring (without the bottom) on top.
2. Whip the vanilla ice cream: Whip the vanilla ice cream with a mixer for about 2 minutes, or until fluffy but still frozen.
3. Create the vanilla ice cream layer: Spread the whipped ice cream up the sides of the pan, creating a thick layer of vanilla all around. Spread the rest in the bottom, and smooth out. (A little ice cream may puddle out the bottom as it melts. This is fine; we'll take care of that later.)
4. Add 2 cups crushed cookies: Spread a thick, even layer of cookies over the ice cream and lightly press in.

1. Melt 1 quart of the ice cream until spreadable (I usually just leave it out for a half hour or so after buying it from the store).
2. Line a 10 inch springform pan with parchment paper including the sides. Spread the ice cream on the bottom of the springform pan, and up the sides as best you can. Freeze for two or more hours.
3. Remove pan from freezer, and fill the middle of the ice cream cake with crushed cookies and chocolate syrup or fudge topping. Place in the freezer again. The chocolate might not freeze all the way.
4. Melt the last 1 quart of ice cream until spreadable. Remove pan from freezer, and spread the rest of the ice cream until smooth. Don't worry if the parchment paper makes the sides wrinkly because it will be covered later. Freeze for 3 hours to overnight. Place the non-dairy whip in the refrigerator to soften at this time.

1. Start with the chocolate ice cream: Let it soften enough so you can spread it easily with a knife, but do not let it melt too much. Fill a 4-inch springform pan about 1/3 of the way full, smoothing out the layer. Freeze until firm.
2. Next, do the cookie layer: Mix the Oreo pieces and hot fudge sauce together then spread evenly on top of the chocolate ice cream layer. Freeze until firm.
3. Top with the vanilla ice cream: Let it soften enough so you can spread it easily with a knife, but do not let it melt too much. Fill the rest of the pan, smoothing out the layer. Freeze until firm.
4. Cover with whipped cream: In a medium bowl, beat the cream and sugar until stiff peaks form (when you pull the beaters straight up, the peaks should keep their shape). Spread most of it evenly on the top and sides of the cake until everything is covered. Put any remaining cream into a piping bag and decorate as desired. Top with sprinkles. Freeze until firm before serving.

2. In a high-powered food processor or blender, add the softened cream cheese, frozen strawberries and ice cream. Blend slowly for a few minutes on low before switching to medium-high and blending until smooth and creamy, 2-3 minutes. Stir in the fresh diced strawberries, then remove the graham cracker crust from the freezer, and pour in the filling, smoothing it all out with a spoon. Place it back in the freezer, for at least 4-6 hours prior to serving.
3. Before serving, remove the cheesecake from the freezer for a few minutes, then run a knife around the edge of the cake and remove the springform pan. You can peel off the parchment at this time too, and place the cake on a cake stand or a cutting board to cut. If you want to jazz it up, decorate the edge with additional fresh diced strawberries, or even piped cream cheese frosting. Slice and serve!
