Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, roll each dough into balls using the palm of your hands, flatten the dough into a round disk.
Here is a recipe that would definitely change the way you look at guavas! With flour, baking powder, custard powder along with chilli masala and chaat masala blended together, added to guava essence creamed with milk and baked to perfect crisp. A sweet and spicy delight!
1. To make the dumplings, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. 2. Using your fingers, rub the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. 3. Beat the egg into the milk and combine with the flour mixture to make a batter. 4. In a large pot, heat the water with a pinch of salt. Once boiling, drop spoonfuls of batter into the water.
Do not put the jam into the fridge when it is still hot. Let it come to room temperature before refrigerating. You can also use normal sweet Guavas if you cannot find the pink ones. You can also use lemon or lime juice instead of citric acid. Add 1-2 tsp pectin while cooking Guava puree for giving it a jelly-like consistency.
