How to make the recipe Wash dal thoroughly. Add tomatoes, 4 cups water, salt, turmeric, rasam powder, crushed ginger to a pot. Add the mashed dal and stir. Heat a pan and add oil or ghee. Boil the rasam for 2 mins on a low flame. Squeeze off lemon as needed. Serve lemon rasam with rice.
Lemon Ginger Rasam, a soothing and scrumptious Rasam. It has the heavenly flavor of fresh ginger, green chilis, fresh coriander with the good splash of lemon juice. We don’t add tamarind for making this Rasam, instead Tomato and Lemon are being used.
Add ghee/oil in a small pan and temper with mustard seeds. Add this to the rasam. Now add the lemon juice and close the rasam with lid. Serve hot with any curry.
Add the tomatoes, green chillies, jaggery asafoetida, salt and rasam powder. Mash the dal and add to the tamarind water as it starts to cook and add water (2-3 cups depending on how dilute you want it) Grind the jeera and peppercorns and add to the rasam as it begins to simmer.
