Alzheimers Disease Information

Question by Hiro1221: How to help an alcoholic with possible alzheimers?
I know someone with a mother, age 64, who has been an alcoholic for awhile and now may suffer from alzheimers/dimentia as well. She has been under care because of how forgetful she’s been and how much the alcohol has worn her down. She recently has accused her caretakers of trying to hurt her or steal from her and is just completely out of it to the point where she doesn’t recognize her own daughter. I am in Minnesota and I’m asking for any information that could help this person help her mother. I understand that she probably can’t rid her mother if she does has this disease and will be extremely hard, if at all possible, to stop her drinking so I’m not looking for a miracle answer. If anyone knows any places she could take her mother for the best treatment with this scenario, anyone has experienced this situation and could simply tell me how they have gone through it and/or are going through it, etc. would be much appreciated. Links as well to info about this would be of great help. Thank you for your time. Have a great day.
